Why Learn With Corrientes?

UK’s longest-established Argentine Tango club

For over 25 years, Corrientes Social Club has been sharing the music, embrace and traditions of Argentine Tango in London. From our first classes in the late 1990s to today, our journey has been shaped by generations of dancers, teachers, musicians and friends who have made Corrientes part of London’s Tango community.

We believe Tango is more than learning steps. It is about connection, music, expression and the joy of dancing together — and that’s what we invite you to discover from your very first class.

Learn With Confidence | Expert Guidance, Zero Pressure

Learn directly from professional instructors with extensive experience in social tango, stage performance, and television. Whether you are stepping onto the floor for the first time or looking for a transformative new hobby, you are in safe hands.

With over 25 years of teaching experience, we can assure you that learning Argentine Tango comes down to just two simple things:

  • The ability to walk — natural, relaxed movement is the entire foundation.
  • The curiosity to try something new — in a warm, supportive environment proven to relieve daily stress, bring joy, and create lifelong social connections.

A Journey That Transforms For more than two decades, our school and social club has watched tango change lives. Tango is a deeply rewarding journey—take your time, enjoy the music, and discover how much you learn about yourself and others along the way.

We welcome all levels of ability—from absolute beginners taking their very first steps to coaching celebrities and personalities for major film and TV productions.

Your First Tango Class — What Do I Need?

Do I need a partner?

No. You are very welcome to come on your own.

Do I need dance experience?

No. Our beginner classes start from the fundamentals.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes that allow you to move. You don’t need special tango clothing for your first class.

What shoes should I wear?

Comfortable shoes that allow you to move and turn safely. You don’t need tango shoes to begin. Heavy boots and trainers are not recommended.

Can I stay for the practica?

Absolutely. That’s encouraged — it’s where you can begin practising what you’ve learned. (No extra cost)

What if I’m nervous?

That’s completely normal. You won’t be expected to know anything when you arrive.
